Sambhaji was elder son of Shahaji Raje Bhosale and Jijabai. He was brother of great Maratha king Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Sambhaji was born in 1623 and was a great favorite of his father. At the time of Sambhaji's birth Shahaji was general in the court of Adil Shah.
